Generosity is one way God shapes our hearts to trust Him more. This journey isn’t about pressure or comparison, it’s about discipleship and taking intentional steps of faith over time.
The Generosity Journey includes four giving steps, each designed to help you grow at your own pace. Wherever you are, there’s no guilt, only an invitation to move forward when God prompts you. Take a moment to honestly identify which step best describes where you are today, and thank God for the work He’s already doing in your life. Each step below includes a call to read Scripture, reflect in prayer, and respond when you’re ready to take your next step of faith with God at Cornerstone.
Below are four common stages many believers find themselves in on the Generosity Journey:
01 COMPASSIONATE GIVER
A Compassionate Giver responds when God moves their heart — whether that’s the very first time they give or when a specific need in their community stirs their compassion. This giver is tender to God’s prompting and willing to take faithful steps of obedience as the Spirit leads.

02 CONSISTENT GIVER
A Consistent Giver does just that, as giving becomes a regular spiritual rhythm. Instead of being occasional or emotion-based, generosity becomes intentional—often through weekly or monthly giving or setting up recurring gifts. This giver is learning faithfulness in the everyday.

03 CHRIST-FIRST GIVER
A Christ-First Giver responds to God’s generosity by giving through the local church as an act of worship and gratitude for the gift of His Son. While the New Testament does not command a specific percentage, it calls believers to generous and cheerful giving as a faith-filled response to grace. For centuries, the tithe (10%) has served as a helpful starting point for honoring God, while the New Testament invites us into an even deeper generosity that increases our joy. This step places Jesus at the center of our financial priorities and reflects a heart committed to honoring Him with all we have.

04 CATALYST GIVER
A Catalyst Giver goes beyond regular sacrificial giving to fuel ministry in extraordinary ways—supporting missions, youth camp scholarships, outreach, building projects, end of year giving opportunities, and planning long-term impact through legacy giving such as estate gifts, charitable trusts, stocks, crypto, or property. Their generosity multiplies ministry today and shapes the future.
