What is cryptocurrency?
Cryptocurrency is a decentralized digital form of currency based on blockchain technology. Unlike the U.S. dollar or Euro, no central authority manages and maintains the value of a cryptocurrency. Instead, cryptocurrency is broadly distributed among its users via the internet.
Why does Cornerstone Community Church accept cryptocurrency?
God provides for us in a number of ways—including cryptocurrency! Since cryptocurrency has value, it provides one more way we can honor God through giving. When you donate crypto to a nonprofit, you receive a tax deduction for the value of the crypto, and avoid the capital gains tax you would have paid if you sold the crypto before donating. This means donating crypto can translate into a larger donation and a higher tax deduction.
