Father & Child Carpentry Project
Dads & Grandpas, bring your elementary-age children (K-5th grades) to join you in building a kid-friendly carpentry project. If you sign up at least one week in advance, you’ll be able to choose your project (bird feeder, monster truck, pirate ship, coin bank, or race car). If you are a last-minute sign-up, then we’ll provide you with the best options we have available. We’ll be using the “Build & Grow” brand of wood projects if you’d like to see pictures on the Lowes website. If you have a hammer and screwdriver, please bring them. If not, we’ll provide some extra ones for you to use. We’ll also give away a “Build & Grow Kid’s Beginner Project Kit” toolset to one lucky winner.
As a bonus, we’ll have a “Kids Demolition Zone” where each kid will get a chance to use their hammer to destroy some fun items (while wearing safety goggles) while we capture the demo with slow motion video.
We’ll have some kid-friendly activities available for those that finish earlier and still want to hang out, like gaga ball, corn hole, Jenga, and carnival games.
Location: The Chapel
WHAT TO EXPECT:
9am – We’ll start our time together in prayer
9:15am – We’ll build our projects
9:45am – We’ll open up the “Kids Demolition Zone”
10:15am – We’ll give away a kids’ toolset & say goodbye
SINGLE MOMS:
If you’d like your child to be able to experience this event and are unable to find a male family member or trusted family friend to bring them, please let us know. We’ll have a limited number of volunteers who have had their backgrounds checked and are willing to be a buddy to help your child complete this project. We’ll all be together in the same room, which will be a fun and safe experience for all.
