Lani Bonot
Communications Director
My name is Lani Bonot (pronounced lah-nee buh-not) and I am the Communications Director for Cornerstone Community Church! My early childhood as a military brat was spent living in amazing places like Italy and Japan before we finally settled down in Lake Elsinore at the beginning of 2011. I currently live with my mother, grandma, our adorable baby Frenchie, Suki, and my younger brother, Josh, who is our photographer here at Cornerstone!
As cliché as it sounds, I was born into my relationship with Christ. My parents diligently served on the worship team in our small Filipino churches overseas, which filled the childhood memories of my formative years. When we relocated to California and I started to find my footing in what would become the place I now called home, Cornerstone was the place that became my refuge as I went through the growing pains of adolescence. I was a socially awkward kid serving on the production team to escape from the outside world (as well as rack up community service hours). When it was time for me to go to college, I was pursuing a degree in Communications which has led me to the job I have today!
I've been serving at Cornerstone since I was 11 and have continued to want nothing more than to faithfully serve the church I call home while trying to make my own lasting impact for generations to come. I'm blessed with a role that allows me to make and do incredibly beautiful things that are both communicative and creative.
What is your role at Cornerstone?
I'm your human Grammarly and Cornerstone encyclopedia! I'm the proof-reader, spell-checker, quality control and beyond. I am the voice on paper and online that communicates to YOU and all our church attendees, staff, and pastors alike. Everything you ever see printed or published with Cornerstone's name on it (since 2021) is something I helped create and coordinate. So whether it's a flyer, social media caption, or sermon illustration; a t-shirt, sticker, or a staff bio; church event—big or small, just know that my team and I work diligently alongside the rest our amazing ministries to provide the tools and resources to help you further your walk with Christ!

Favorite quote of all time?
“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘... you’ve got to be kind.” ― Kurt Vonnegut
What is your hope for Cornerstone?
My hope for Cornerstone is that others will come to know God and find the beauty in what we as humans can make, do, design, and create in His name and for His glory. That throughout all our ministries, but especially in our creativity and communications, others will yearn and seek knowing more about God and find the safe and loving community that comes with growing their relationship and faith with Him. Through all our talents and gifts that Christ has blessed us with, we can all find our place in His kingdom and expand it in order to reach the hurting and broken, and help them heal through His love. That in all we do—even if we do it imperfectly, we do it with love, kindness, joy, curiosity, and ambition.
