Summary of Duties: 
Currently meets or is able to meet all requirements of a nationally standardized peer support training program with completion of exam within 6 months and/or CRS/CHW Certified. Previous participation in mental health system as recipient and willingness to convey this experience is required. The ACT Co-occurring Peer Specialist is an individual who has a unique perspective because of his/her own experiences with serious and persistent mental illness/substance abuse. They are primarily responsible for supporting and advocating for persons with mental health/substance abuse concerns by providing support and guidance under the established guidelines. Provide peer counseling and support, drawing on common experiences as a peer to validate persons' served experiences, provide guidance and encouragement in his/her recovery path. Carry out duties as a member of the ACT staff, under the direction of the ACT Team Leader.
